on one was spared, not even the children...

nah, i just saw the movie 2012 yesterday and omg, this movie was awesome! probably one the best disaster movies i have ever seen. roland emmerich has redeemed himself with this movie, his previous movies look like child's play compared to this movie. the most impressive part about this movie is the special effects and the disaster sequences, like the part where a huge volcanic explodes, it was amazing. the CGI look really realistic and not so cheesy and fake. those parts kept on the edge of my seat

my only complains about this movie were it's a tad too long and gets kind boring in the middle and plus the movie starts out slow too. and their a couple of moments that are unbelievable and that would never happen in real life, but that is usually how roland's movies go. and there couple real funny moments too, which kind of odd for a disaster movie like this, but i think the director did that to add some comical relief to an otherwise tragic movie, he as done that with most of his movies. anyway, go see this movie now! it is just one those movies you just have to see in the theaters to get the full feel for it.

as for my opinion on the 2012 doomsday theory, i think it is a bunch of over hyped rubbish, nothing is going to really happen, just like in 2000 with the Y2K virus was rumored to take out the world's power. but it be a real shocker if something did happen, that would be something no one expected. the movie misinterprets the theory a little, according to Mayan calendar the year 2012 will make the end of old era and the beginning of new one, that doesn't necessarily mean the world will end, but there might be a major change to the world, but still I'm really skeptical anything with happen.
